SummerZoom 2010 – Kefalonia

Kefalonia Kefalonia Kefalonia

New travel report by Brian, Leicester

Kefalonia Kefalonia Kefalonia Skala- A small village resort on the beautiful Greek Island of Kefelonia.Boosting a long expanse of fine shingle and sand that gently slopes into the sea. Skala is the ideal location for those wanting a quiet relaxing beach holiday. The village itself is a small high street with side roads branching off, lined with tavernas, a small selection of gift and beach shops, car hire and a choice of two super markets that are more then adequqte for those who have chosen to self cater. At night mix with the locals on the square over looking the sea, with the fountain gently sounding in the background or enjoy a drink and watch the world go by from one of the family bars. We have visited Skala many times, on our last visit our eldest daughter like a growing number of others, choose to marry in the village, the ceremony carried out by the Mayor, followed by a horse and carriage ride around the village to the cheers and applause of the local people. A wonderful village that holds very special memories – everyone deserves to go Skala at least once.
