Mysterious time machine discovered in Japan

The Japanese have discovered a mysterious time machine. It takes your photos back to the times of the world’s very first camera. All you need to do is select a photo and click on the blue button… no rattling and rumbling, just a few seconds patience – and your photo will be back with you. The only difference: It will look as if it were a hundred years old.

Question of the month: Can I change my email address?

Is it possible to change the email address with which I’m registered at Pixum? I got a new one recently and would like to make sure that I receive all my order confirmations.
It is very important that you use an up-to-date email address for your Pixum account. When you place an order, the confirmation will be sent to this email address. As soon as your sending is shipped, you will be informed again. In the seldom cases where there is a problem with your order, we will also inform you by email.

You can change your email address yourself very easily: Simply log in with your user name or your old email address and your password.

After logging in, you will find a menu bar at the left-hand side. Please select “My account”

In the “My account” section, you can select “My personal profile”.

Here, you can change all information (except the user name), such as email address, postal address and even payment information.

Always finish by clicking “Save”!

Question of the month: How do I redeem my voucher code?

I received an offer for 100 prints at a special price. My shopping cart still shows the normal price. How do I make use of your offer?
- Jenny
Dear Jenny

thank you for your interest in our special offer.

In order to benefit of our offer, please use the voucher code that you find along with our offer. Select your photos and place the desired products into the shopping cart. On the overview page, please enter your voucher code into the corresponding box to the right.

It is important that you click on “Redeem voucher”. Afterwards, the price reduction will show in the overview to the left.

Please note:

Voucher codes cannot be redeemed afterwards for an order that has already been transferred to our server! Contact us before proceeding if a voucher code does not work as expected.

Only one voucher code can be redeemed per order!

Some offers are connected to a minimum order amount – you always find this information along with the offer.

In our software EasyPrint, you can also use your voucher code. Here, it will not be necessary to click “redeem voucher” before proceeding. Please check carefully whether the next page shows the expected price reduction. If not, please review your order and voucher code.

Further explanation on voucher codes can be found here.

Question of the month: Why is the print size not 4×6 in?

Unfortunately, the prints you sent me all have different sizes. More than 30 don’t measure 4 x 6 as expected but only 4 x 5.5. Are you able to print those photos again in 4 x 6?
- Andrew, Newcastle
Dear Andrew,

thank you for your request.

Pixum uses a printing technology that doesn’t zoom or cut your pictures but exposes it 100% on the photo paper without cropping parts of the image.

The final dimension of each print has to do with its aspect ratio. That’s why on our website we only mention the short side of the picture. The longer side is flexible (at least for the formats: 3.5inch, 4inch, 4.5 inch, 5 inch, 8inch and 12inch) since we expose all pictures on a paper-roll.

Digital cameras typically capture the image in an aspect ratio of 4:3, which leads to a print dimension for the 4 inch format of approx. 4×5.3 inch. Only files with an aspect ratio of 2:3 lead to a print measuring 4×6 inch.

In order to receive your prints in the traditional print format 4×6 inch, you will need to edit their aspect ratio to 2:3 by means of an editing software before uploading them to Pixum.

We can recommend the following free software which will help you to do so:
JPEGCrops

Further explanations and examples concerning print formats and aspect ratios can be found here.
