Which images can I use?Coloured pencils

The theme of our photo competition of May is “Colours” which means we are looking for pictures that display brilliant, shining or even unusual but nevertheless interesting colours. You may find those kinds of colours in nature (as the leaves of trees, the different layers of earth as well as the fur or feathers of an animal), at home (as your clothes or your children’s toys) or even on the street (as the wall, door or windows of a building, a street sign or even the exposures in a shop) – just look around and keep your eyes open for unique mixtures of colours!

Why should I enter?

At Pixum, nobody can loose but everybody can win! This means, all participants entering a photo displaying some kind of colour will get a free 12″ gloss Poster. And if you are the one who takes the greatest snapshot of a colourful object (or even subject ;-) ), you will win a Pixum Photo Book Large (square) that you might use to collect the most amazing colours you have ever seen.

How long does the photo competition run?

You can enter our photo competition until 31/05/2012. We will take all pictures into account that reach us until this date and choose a winner shortly thereafter. You can find all entries in our online album and we also try to publish as many photos as possible on our blog. So do not wait any longer but start taking pictures of brilliant colours!

I love the colours at live gigs and go to a lot, here are three that i think show great colour. They are all shot from the barrier as I try to get there early to get the best shots of my fave bands. 1st is Kiss in Glasgow 2010, just ace light show and band were amazing, 2nd P1030228 is local Scottish band Wired Desire, got lucky with the guitarist shot in motion at Edinburgh liquid rooms, 3rd P1040515 is Dave from Y&T at Glasgow ABC, colours are ace in this shot, hope you like them.

Not sure if it is the bright light and clear air that makes the images so vibrant, or the fact that a holiday always seems that way! Either way they evoke good memories of a fantastic location
